DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Interstate Water Resources Management Division, part of the
Bureau of Safe Drinking Water, is tasked with the comprehensive
planning, development, execution, and assessment of statewide
policies and programs aimed at fostering collaboration among
various agencies and states regarding shared water and coastal
resource challenges.
Within this framework, the Water Use and Planning Section plays a
crucial role in overseeing the activities related to the State
Water Plan, while also providing essential support for the
Commonwealth's drought monitoring, reporting, and management
efforts during drought emergencies declared by the Governor.
This position is designed to offer expert geological support to
both the Section and the Division, focusing on the management of
data, including spatial data through the use of geographic
information systems (GIS). Additionally, it involves maintaining
the Commonwealth Water Use Data System (WUDS) and contributing to
the updates and continuous maintenance of the State Water Plan and
its related data products.

Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM
to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.This position
may require travel as needed to field locations and meetings.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework)
part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have
a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from
an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to
telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters
office in Harrisburg.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may
be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment
with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the
starting annual salary of $67,678.00 (before taxes).You will
