Job Description:
Job Description The BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems site in
York, Pennsylvania is seeking a 2nd Shift (1:30pm - 10:30pm)
Maintenance Manager to support the second shift operations. This
position will work like a supervisor, managing a team of 13 +/-
Bargaining Unit Employees. This role will operate on a 9/80 work
schedule and closely coordinate with all other shifts and weekend
personnel. In this role as a Maintenance Manager, you will:
- Oversee all maintenance/facilities activities to ensure a safe
work environment in compliance with all BAE Systems safety and
maintenance procedures as well as OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other
applicable regulatory guidelines to attain zero recordable
accidents and zero lost day accidents.
- Manage 2nd shift union multi-craft bargaining unit personnel in
the timely and effective preventive and corrective maintenance of
heavy manufacturing machinery, janitorial, carpentry &
plumbing.
- Manage third party cleaning company and review their
invoicing.
- Define priorities and lead personnel to ensure machine
tolerances are maintained while minimizing production delays.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with operation and
safety functions.
- Respond to all production equipment repair needs to ensure
adequate and appropriate resources are applied to attain a goal of
95% machine uptime.
- Track and trend Preventive Maintenance scheduled completions to
ensure 95% on-time completion rate.
- Work closely with Operations Line Supervisors, Maintenance
Planning & Scheduling, Production Scheduling, Quality Engineering,
and Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate downtime for repairs,
calibrations and preventive maintenance to ensure minimal impact to
production schedule.
- Maintain status boards daily to ensure visible, accurate, and
timely production machine status.
- Meet with 3rd shift to receive important shift hand off
information.
- Ensure shift reports are updated and a clear transition to 3rd
shift is achieved.
- Review and approve all completed work orders for quality,
accuracy, and completeness and close out work orders in compliance
with BAE Systems procedures.
- Maintain EAM, databases, and process documents to ensure
appropriate asset management of all production equipment.
- Contacts and coordinates outside vendors to contract expertise
for services & repairs when needed on off shift operations.
- Responsible for all aspects of 2nd shift Maintenance Bargaining
Unit craftsmen work time management including time card
verification, vacation requests, disciplinary action, pay grade
advancement, training, tools, vehicle usage, and work
schedules.
- Accountable to the York Site Maintenance Manager I for
compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations,
and all applicable BAE Systems procedures.
- Meet daily with cross functional teams to ensure Operational
Excellence.
- Champion continuous improvement to drive innovation and further
capabilities.
- Weekend work and overtime as scheduled or as required to
support ongoing projects/maintenance activities.
- Share the responsibility of self-development with immediate
supervisor.
- Provide leadership for the shared responsibility of employee
development.
- Any applicable assignments or tasks not specifically identified
above.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in Maintenance Management
within Industrial/Manufacturing environments.
- Experience in People Management/Leadership within Unionized
Maintenance environment.
- Experience in generating written instructions to guide
maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E regulatory and safety
guidelines.
- Proficient in MS Office with the ability to utilize Oracle
ERP.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Team player with a high sense of urgency and ownership.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and identify issue
resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Highly organized.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Degree or Certification in Maintenance
or related.
- Training in maintenance scheduling.
- Experience in Defense Contracting (DoD)
- Experience in operating and/or maintaining high precision
rotating machinery.
- Customer service orientated.
- Lock out / Tag out management.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary
Range: $90373 - $153634Please note: This range is based on our
market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined
by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
