Job ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Assist the Team Leader: Collaborate with the Team Leader to
ensure seamless daily operations, including profitability, expense
control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and
special projects assigned.
- Lead and Develop Team Members: Foster a positive work
environment, lead and develop team members to achieve their full
potential, and promote a culture of outstanding teamwork, mutual
respect, and exceptional morale.
- Enhance Store Experience: Develop and maintain creative store
layouts and product merchandising to enhance the customer
experience and drive sales.
- Analyze Sales and Reports: Assist the Team Leader in analyzing
sales, reports, and labor to inform business decisions and drive
growth.
- Develop Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on new products,
demonstrate advanced product knowledge, and share expertise with
team members.
- Manage Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain good vendor
relationships, identify new opportunities, and ensure timely and
accurate paperwork submission.
- Support Team Leader: Serve as a point person and departmental
person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring
continuity and smooth operations.
- Set High Standards: Establish and maintain high standards of
retail execution, consistently communicating and modeling Whole
Foods Market's vision and goals.
- Lead by Example: Foster a positive environment by leading by
example, demonstrating Whole Foods Market's core values, and
promoting a culture of excellence.Job RequirementsEssential Skills
and Experience:
- Leadership Experience: 6+ months of supervisory experience in a
retail environment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent
interpersonal, motivational, team-building, and customer
relationship skills.
- Product Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of products, including
regulations and safety policies.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficient mathematical skills for
assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and
managing inventory.
- Decision-Making: Demonstrated decision-making ability,
leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.Working
ConditionsPhysical Requirements:
- Lifting: Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing and Walking: 6-8 hours of standing and walking in an
8-hour workday.
- Hand Use: Single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and
pulling.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a wet and cold
environment, with exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and
temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Flexible Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule,
including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
