Manager, R&D Strategy and OperationsWhat you will doLet's do
this. Let's change the world. The R&D Strategy and Operations
(RDSO) team is a multifaceted organization committed to
accelerating Amgen's Research and Development efforts. RDSO
delivers value across critical capabilities, including portfolio
strategy, performance management, workforce development, business
operations, and knowledge and learning. This breadth of support
ensures that Amgen's R&D functions are equipped to innovate and
implement with speed and efficiency. As Strategic Planning &
Operations (SPO) Senior Manager, you will support the Vice
President of RDSO to shape strategic priorities, oversee
operational support, and advance initiatives that maximize the
impact of RDSO's diverse contributions across Amgen's R&D
organization. This position will report to the Business Performance
Director in the RDSO Strategy & Performance Excellence group.
- Lead and facilitate key meetings and events (All Staff, Senior
Leadership Teams, team huddles, book of work reviews, on-site
gatherings, etc.)
- Develop essential communication materials, ensuring clear and
impactful messaging for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain collaboration platforms or sites to
facilitate effective information sharing and transparency across
the organization.
- Develop and implement strategic frameworks for annual goal
setting, progress tracking, and alignment with long-term
organizational objectives.
- Lead efforts to address organizational challenges, foster
continuous improvement and employee engagement, and deliver
innovative solutions that advance RDSO's mission.
- Foster partnership across the SPO network to exchange insights,
drive cross-functional alignment, and champion the adoption of
practices that enhance organizational performance.
- Act as a central point for identifying and resolving
operational and strategic issues, ensuring smooth execution of
departmental priorities and goals, and enabling the team to
navigate urgent issues or disruptions effectively.
- Support critical initiatives on an ad hoc basis to ensure
timely and successful execution.
- Partner with leadership, HR, IT, and Finance to align workforce
strategies, resource planning, and technology enablement with

qualifications.Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience Or
- Masters degree and 4 years of related experience Or
- Bachelors degree and 6 years of related experience Or
- Associates degree and 10 years of related experience Or
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of related
experiencePreferred Qualifications:
- Ability to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans
that drive measurable results in a complex, matrixed
organization.
- Demonstrated capability as a strong integrator and business
operator, adept at aligning diverse functions and driving
operational excellence.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to craft and
deliver messaging that resonates with executive leadership and
fosters alignment.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with a track record
of translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and
measurable results.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence
without authority, navigate complex environments, and build strong
relationships at all levels.
- Self-motivated, with strong critical thinking skills and the
ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities

for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual
salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited
to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.In addition to
