Job Description Westat's 11-week summer internship experiences
will be hybrid at one of our U.S. office locations. Our interns can
expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.The program
will begin on Monday, June 2, 2025, and end by August 15, 2025.
During the summer internship program, you will be assigned a
project deliverable and will present about your experience during
the final week of the program. You will also attend educational
programs and networking events.We are looking for students who
possess an interest in education data research and analysis. We

it's like to work at Westat.A hybrid work arrangement with 1-2 days
onsite at a Westat office is preferred. This is a U.S. based
position; pay rate for this role is $30/hr.Job Summary:The intern
will support two projects. One project will entail onsite data
collection within schools that are participating in a randomized
control trial (travel required). The other project will entail data
cleaning and analyses, quality checks, and report writing. Job
responsibilities:
- Onsite data collection with travel, data cleaning, basic data
analysis, quality checks, and report writing.
- Responsible for collecting and analyzing data from teachers and
schools, ensuring data integrity through cleaning, quality
assurance (QA), and quality control (QC). Additional
responsibilities include IRB training compliance, policy analysis,
and conducting program evaluations.Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a PhD related to Education Studies or the
social sciences.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical software (e.g., R,
SAS, SPSS, or Stata)
- Demonstrated experience conducting data cleaning, descriptive
and inferential statistics
- Demonstrated experience communicating with lead staff around
data challenges from collection to analysis.Preferred
Qualifications:
- A master's degree completed within the past 6 months.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Interest in topics such as early childhood education, K-12
education, postsecondary education/training, rural education,
educational equity, and education research and/or program
evaluation.Other Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented
environment.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication.
- Comfortable navigating elementary and middle school systems and
